    Happy 4th!

There's an old joke that asks, "How many countries have a 4th of July?" Answer: All of them.

But here in the United States, we are celebrating 249 years since declaring independence from Great Britain. That has led to the United States being the most influential country on the planet. After all, Fender (and Gibson, and Martin and Taylor) is an American company. I'll be breaking into a rendition of The Stars Spangled Banner on my guitar today!

To my fellow Americans, happy Independence Day!

For the rest, happy fourth of July!

    Re: Happy 4th!

I actually have the house to myself today, first time in over 5 months since the nephew moved in. I'm almost in paralysis from disbelief that it actually happened. Any other time I'd probably be shredding my tail off. I have no calluses. At the most it will be 20 minutes before I have to stop.

I might walk down to the casino tonight providing there's no chance of rain which currently looks pretty good. There might even be a view of the municipal fireworks from there. It's actually unusually cool by summer weather standards, high is only going to be 78. Was able to shut the a/c off. Thankfully there is no dog here to worry about be scared by the fireworks. If the natives have an unusually heavy barrage going, I may stay home for the cat's sake. Two years ago, I was stuck home because of my broken hip. I could hear the neighbors' dogs howling inside their houses. That really made me dislike fireworks by the unwashed masses.

Not sure Servco Pacific who owns Fender qualifies as an American company, but whatever. The vast majority of Fender guitars are built outside the US. Just sayin'.

At this point I don't even know what town I'm playing in. Pretty much a blur.
