I don't feel quite right posting a Sunday thread, given that many of us came here today and were greeted by the news that Roger (Phantomman) had passed.
I never had the pleasure of meeting him - heck, I've not met anyone from here! - but Roger was a regular poster here, and his presence brought knowledge, insight and a community warmth to the place. There's another thread devoted to remembering him, so I'll just keep the Sunday thread alive here.
Which is to say there's nothing really new to report here. We're expecting cloudy skies and rain today, as befits an early June day. I've started running again, after realizing my relatively sedentary lifestyle hasn't been good for me. Oh, I walk a lot, but I've neglected other forms of exercise, so I've now pulled out some weights and unpacked my running shorts and have decided it's time to ramp up the ol' cardiovascular system.
So saying, I'm heading off to the volunteer fire department this morning for their monthly breakfast fundraiser. It's the best breakfast in town for ten bucks, and it all goes to support those who respond whenever someone dials 911. After breakfast, it's the routine: Church, maybe lunch (two meals out in one day???) some afternoon baseball, some guitar playing (my current streak is 105 days) and yes, weather permitting, some exercise. For the peace and quiet of retirement, it seems my days are quite full.
I hope everyone else has a full, summer day. Rest in peace, Roger.
