    The Sunday Thread. It's March 16, 2025

A day before St. Patrick's Day, if that means anything to you.

I still haven't gotten used to it still being dark at 7:00am. I sort of feel like the I'm behind even though the day has just begun! Well, not much of a day ahead. The usual church-lunch-practice-read stuff. Opening Day is less than two weeks away, and I'm itching for a little small ball. Until then, peace. And have a great day unless you have other plans!

It is one of those days where I find I just can?t seem to sleep so I?ve been up since around 1:30. When I turned on the TV in the family room it was raining outside, and at 6:00 when my wife came in to the room she told me we have snow on the ground. Wow, what some freaky weather. A couple of days ago it was 65 degrees and all this week the daytime temps are going to be in the low 40 degree range with night time back below freezing and more snow anticipated around mid-week. I guess it?s to be expected here behind the Cheddar Curtain on the western shore of Lake Michigan.

I hope everyone has a great week.

Getting ready for church, then it?s pay some bills, watch the season opening F1 race, do a run through on music for tonight?s gig. (Still haven?t decided what guitars I?ll use, but I?m leaning to the PRS 509 for the setlists). Then off to run some errands, fill up for the week with gas and play a gig tonight.

Mild and cloudy here in the Granite State. Supposed to deluge tomorrow but be nice for a few days afterwards until the start of the weekend. I hesitate to complain because at least it ain't tornados. How awful.

Opening day, eh? I'll be lucky if the Red Sox are on a network other than ESPN. In January, Comcast moved the channel to the highest tier of their programming for over 80 dollars a month above our already insane cable bill. I haven't seen a Bruins game in months, although at least I'm not missing that much this year. If it weren't for bro's GF wanting to watch news (groan) when she's here, I think we'd have dumped cable and gone streaming service for our sports. By the time we pay for those, we'd be at the even more insane top tier programming's cost. Cable companies are the devil.

Moved my stuff out of the back of the cellar and piled it in one side of the new room, which is ostensibly to be the nephew's bedroom, getting him out of the living room. It's been 9 days since the room was completed and the boy is still in the living room. Found out how much the construction cost bro and it's pretty unlikely any further work will be done for quite a while. If he had waited another year, I would done the construction for the price of materials. Oh well.

Be careful out there, amateur drunk weekend. I quit drinking in January and have no intention nor desire to be out there amongst them.

Just got news that my Heritage Blues Deluxe sold for $2000. Yahoo!

I need to get the binding repaired on my Martin Siris acoustic, and I have my eye on one of their new Martin SC-13e models. Awesome guitar.
My logic is that I'm going to need an acoustic while my Siris is being repaired so I'll just get the new Martin SC-13e Sunburst model in the meantime. Good idea, right?

I have some amps I'm selling/trading and we'll see what that scares up. Time to move some high-quality gear and trade it for fewer pieces of higher quality gear.

Hilltown Blues Jam today 2:00 to 5:00 and then going to hear friend's band at 6:00 where I'll enjoy some corned beef and cabbage. Mmmmmmmm.

    A good day in store...
