Hi,
I play my 1963 & 1974 Strats Lead/Rhythm Guitar parts on All Along the Watchtower and have added some rare photos of Jimi, his friends, and business associates some of whom 'drank his wine'

Stop that! You make that Strat sound too good, and you're great playing is just too much to withstand.
Break a couple of fingers; then play it and video it.
If we'd known we were going to be the Beatles, we'd have tried harder.--George Harrison
Thanks, I think ? on the subject of fingers, last year I ' put my hand up' for linesman duties when my lad was playing football last year. Unfortunately I tried to catch the ball at point blank range and broke 2 fingers. It kinda of ached especially later in the evening when I was in rehearsal with my band. Couldn't understand why my muting was off - until I had an X-ray the next day !
All the best friend.![]()
Yikes on the broken fingers. Ballgames are best left to the young. Just kidding.
I enjoyed the video.

Excellent playing, tone and I love that Red Strat!
Do you tune to Eb to cover Hendrix? There was an isolated guitar track youtube video from the Atlanta Pop Festival. I tuned my strat to Eb and for the first time ever I was on the same planet as Jimi as opposed to not even being in the same galaxy.
No univibe but I'll try a plug-in next time I attempt it. I also don't have a wah pedal out at the moment (in storage) but then I don't know how that would work with my direct recording/monitoring set up.
"Live and learn and flip the burns"
Hi,
Yes tuned to Eb for two reasons, I learnt the song in that position on the fretboard and with 10's gauge strings it makes the bends a little easier of course. I will have a listen to the Atlanta track, does Jimi use a univibe on that ? Wah will probably work okay with your set up.
Cheers
Thanks, glad you enjoyed.

cool!!im thinking about a 1972 Start??I'm sure you can help!
I am not a lead guitarist at all!I just want to sort of play my songs with an electric sound like Dylan does. Mostly folk sounding songs. So, if you can help me by revealing how much I should have to pay for a 1972 fender stratocaster. its a hardtail no whammy bar I would appreciate it a ton
janette
Hi Janette,
Thats a good question and a bit like 'how long is a piece of string' !
So it would depend on condition and originality. There is a 1972 sunburst hardtail on e bay and that is on sale at £5k. This particular guitar is well played so a mint custom colour could be nudging around £10k.
Who is to say that buying such a guitar is a good investment ? You may find that over the years your guitar goes up in value.
You may have a very valuable instrument that you are not prepared to risk taking out of the house or are too worried to play in case you dent it and reduce the value.
You may be best at buying a new standard or used American standard for the 'right' price.
Very NIce. I enjoyed that.
Glad you liked it.
