    sunday morning and coffee

the rains have stopped here but apparently not so much for down in South Carolina. Mercy.

Been nursing a sore, stiff left index finger since Tuesday. Cold weather, mishandling plastic grocery bags by carrying too much at once, and low pressure from the rainy weather all conspired to limit my guitar playing this week. I wear gloves now for outdoor excursions, keep my room a little warmer with a space heater and will be more careful with the groceries. I hope it heals up soon as I was making good progress on my sight reading.

getting close to the time of year when I start dragging out my christmas lights and testing them to see what needs fixing/replacing while it is still mild enough to manipulate the wires easily. I start watching the long term forecasts more closely. I don't care that most of the local trees haven't changed colors yet, I start early so I don't get caught trying to put up my display in bitter weather with stiff wires. Not to mention what that does to my hands I'm trying to protect.

Dan you are the man. I wait until December 1st to even think about it all.

After having been divorced for about four years, I had my first real date last night, and we clicked, so we're going out tonight.

Former student.....(no worries; she's in her early 40s, no young chickie babe--Chicken House Willie wouldn't want to scar a young girl for life).

I've got lots of house and yard chores, but I'm looking forward to writing today sometime. I had a breakthrough with a song I've been working on a long time. I may start setting up my recording gear and start demo-ing it this week if I can get a draft of it written.

    Have a great day guys.

Sundays are the right days for acoustics.

Had a rock and roll road trip this weekend...

Went with my fiancée and some friends to the neighboring state to see one of Brazil's greatest bands play live, os Titãs ("The Titans"). Got frontstage tickets and took a lot of pictures with the cell phone. I had seen them live a couple of times, including New Year Day's concert in Copacabana Beach, Rio de Janeiro, but this was actually the first time I got to see them so close.

    Here are some images:

(The masks were just part of the opening act, they wore 'em only through the first 4 songs. They're actually not a metal band).

They finished the show at 3:30 A.M., then we went to the nearest McDonald's, grabbed some burgers for "breakfast" and headed back home... Quite a rock and roll trip, just like I enjoy.

Just in case any of you wants to know what they sound like, here is a video of them. If I had to label them, I'd say they're an alternative and post-punk kind of band. Started their career in 1981.
