    Today there will be:
    • The mowing and weed whacking of the Ch Willie grounds
    • The cleaning of one's guitars
    • The prepping for ye olde occupation
    • The repairing of the Tele's strap button hole
    • The laundering of one's clothes
    • The playing of said stringed doodlyboxes
    • The alphabetizing of one's LPs
    • The taking of a sweetheart nap

Week one of vacation is over - one to go. Last week cleaned basement and watched grandson so he didn't have to spend the week in day care. Went to Gloucester Friday night for a whale watch on Saturday. A glorious day on the ocean - saw a few whales and had a great time. I'm going to my step-son's today to photograph a truck he is trying to sell and them fishing for smallmouth bass in a nearby stream. I need a nap.

I just finished gluing the top on my Harmony Stella. Later on we're going to a local car club's minibike drag races!

Quite a sad day for me, although the week was a golden one.

Won a very important case last thursday, proved a doctor's innocence in a heavyweight malpractice trial. love what I do...

But today I got some very sad family related news, and it seems won't be able to live near my relatives anymore, pretty soon. I don't feel like talking about it, very personal stuff, but it's kinda killing me.

got a half cup of joe working, fresh pot brewing. nice day, going to get a little warm to send August out in style and welcome in September. About 9 and a half weeks since the fubar eye operation. I'm getting much of my vim and pep back. A little frustrated by the snail's pace of recovery but this isn't like a broken limb where you can do exercise and therapy. I've reached one of my goals yesterday when I walked for 60 plus minutes. Before my operation I had planned on going hiking up Mount Monadnock at least once this fall. I thought for sure I'd be recuperated from my eye surgery(s) by now or at least in the near future. Now I'll be lucky if I go at all this year. I still have not started driving yet. I want some practice sessions first and need somebody to drive me to and from those practices. I'd do this today if I could.

Almost caught up on my newspapers, stubborn that way I guess. I wanted to be done before Sept 1.

Trying to sell a guitar body and hoping I can get to the post office to ship it when somebody hits the 'pay' button. I may be experimenting with the USPS pickup in the near future. Has anybody tried that yet?

Quiet Sunday service because so many folks are on vacation. However, the summer break for the worship bands is now over and I will be playing again next week. Had lunch with a group of really wonderful young people from the church. Now I am off to shop for a sporan with my oldest grandson. A sporan is the sort of small satchel that goes with a kilt. A classic Scottish joke goes like this:

Q: What is that big hairy thing that hangs between a Scotsman's legs?
    A: A sporan.

He wants to start the first day of his last year of high school in full highland regalia. I think he gets his weirdness from me.

Sorry to hear that de Melo!

The minibike drags were a blast! My son got to run his bike about 8 times. There were some cool minibikes there!

a mini bike, lawd's sakes. i haven't thought about those in a dog's age. There were a couple kids in the neighborhood back in the day who had one. We beg and plead with them to ride one. I don't remember ever getting to do so.

My son and I each bought one when he was about 13. Here's mine. We had a great time with them but he's 21 now. I was planning to sell it. Now I want to hop it up!
