It's New England Jam Time Again!!! 12/4/05

It's time for Tele-Bob's New England Jam XI.

    Sunday December 4th

    Details
    Where:
    The Band Room
    141 S. Main St
    Beacon Falls, Ct

    203 729 8600

    Time: 1:00 to 7:00

    What it costs: $25

    What you get:
3 jam rooms that are fully equipped with drum kits, amps, PAs, mics and stands. Drummers should bring their own sticks and guitar/bass players need to bring their own strings and cords.

I always put out a nice spread of food and drinks and people always bring extra food as well.

    What to expect:
A great time! Many of us know eachother from the very first jam in Beacon Falls and have made it to every one since then.

These jams offer a warm, friendly atmospehere that encourages new people to come out and get that first live jam under their belt. There will be some very good players in attendance who have always been helpful in getting new players over their "first jam anxiety" and who will also, (given the chance) blow the roof off the place! It's really great to hear some of these guys play.

I had to go up $5 on the price because I came up a little short on the last few jams but I don't want to start cutting back on the food and beverages. The New England Jam series set the standard for these types of affairs and I don't want to start skimping now.

The proceeds, if any, will go to my buddy Tom, (drummer for The Rockaholics), who broke 3 vertabrae in his back in a recent car accident. I hope you guys don't mind this deviation from tradition.

    What say ye?

    Do we have a jam?

I should be there. My only current plans for that weekend is to see BNL at Mohegan Sun on Friday.

Oh, and speaking of manners, the ever popular "Two Guitar Limit" room will once again be open. Now if we can just get FenderBoy to let others have a chance to play we'll be all set!

sounds like fun. I may be able to mix this trip with business, as I have a bud down in CT who is attempting to sheetrock (by himself) a 9,000 sq ft house.

I won't know until basically the last minute, though. It depends largely on how the employment situation is going.

Dan, as I recall, we had a snappy little swing jam going in Arizona last year didn't we? Is my memory serving me correctly? It sure would be great if you could make it.

Jeez, I'd like to come to one of these...perhaps I'll put it on my calendar.

I could bring my 5-alarm chili...er, wait a minute...wouldn't want to give T-B any ammunition.

It'd be way cool if the Rochester contingent could come down. I know it's a long drive.

I'd really like to go, but it's a 7 hour drive from Buffalo. Maybe one of you Rochester or Syracuse guys might want to carpool and split gas and tolls (and driving, if you like)?

Yeah, Rochester Rocks! OSA has attended a New England Jam or two.

RJ, I wouldn't sweat the "ammunition" too much. The gestation period for that stuff is well longer than the jam so you'd all be safe. Although someone did cut the cheese into one of the mics at the open mic last night. Every one who used that mic there on complained of a reeking odor on it. LMAO!

Hopefully OSA and Mikey will chime in on this one. Jesse, if I'm going we can definitely carpool down there.

How far away is it, timewise? 5-6 hours?

Yeah, 5 to 6 hours depending on how fast you drive. I always enjoy a road trip and the past two with GibsonJunkie have been a lot of fun. The ride goes by pretty quickly because we just laugh and talk about stupid shit all the way to Rochester!

All depends on the new job. I may be out of town. But if the schedules line up we should be able to blast out there.

Depending on how fast you drive...and traffic....about an hour and a half......
It's also not a complicated trip with lots of confusing turns.

I have the weekend reserved, and my son wants to come along. I look forward to watching him play with some of you guys. He's well beyond my level. It will be fun for him to be in a situation where he's playing with people better than him.

We'll be there as long as he doesn't get a gig at the last minute that conflicts with the Jam.

I'll be bringing some amps 'n stuff for folks to check out and play through, if'n that's OK. I want honest opinions, so if they sound like shit, let me know.

Fender 5E7 (narrow panel tweed) 3x10 Bandmaster clone.
Modded 5E3 (narrow panel tweed) Deluxe clone.

(And in case you're wondering, the Bandmaster had some serious tweaking done to it since the last jam, and sports a pair of Tung-Sol 5881's )

    and the fabled

Mojo-Box: Fender 5G15 Stand alone reverb tank with added tremolo.
