    Identifying Pickups

I just purchased a pickup assembly off the net and was wondering what pickups are on it. The reverse side shows "016730" stamped on the back of the pickups with different numbers painted on. The painted numbers are:
    56205
    56206
56204 (the last 2 numbers are smeared)

I have no idea what this means. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I believe if anyone could've helped you, they would have.

The stamped number on the bottom is just the bobbin part number. The other numbers may or may not mean anything. You could poke around at www.fender.com and look in their parts lists to see if anything matches, which is exactly what I'd have to do.
A friend in need is a good reason to screen your calls.

    Re: Identifying Pickups

016730 appears on the bottom of any run of the mill '80s and onwards Fender strat pickup. The other numbers I haven't seen before...usually on somethimg like a 50s or 60s Strat (reissue) you'll see 00541762 on the right of the 016730 as you look down on the base of the pickguard assembly. Any further info and I'd have to start digging, and I'd begin with telecast's suggestion. As it stands, I'd suggest that such numbers are a particular model designator. The pickups themselves....'80s and up.
