Is the Electric XII body shape or outline the same as either of these two other Fenders?
It's quite similar in both shape and weight, ie: substantially heavier than a Strat, Tele, or Mustang.

You mean one of these?
So the XII body shape outline is just similar, and not the same as a JM or Jag? I'm planning to build a 1966 era type Electric XII type guitar and am looking to see if either of these is a good starting point to rough out the outline. I don't care about any on the other Fender models since I'm clear on their obvious differences.
To tell you the truth I'm not sure WTF is beneath the Electric XII's pickguard in terms of pickup and control-cavity routs. But as can be seen in the photos below, the overall body shape externally does resemble the Jaguar/Jazzmaster platform. If you start with a "raw" body blank and can do your own routing you'll likely be able to pull this off. However the monkey in the wrench may lie in locating the hardware and electronics specific to the model. I don't know that Fender ever re-issued the original 12-string so the options for parts may be limited.
