    Fender Mary Kay(e)

    Hi Guys,

Yesterday I came across an add for a CS Fender Mary Kay strat for sale....
Well the price is up there, but I must admit I havent been able to get that guitar out of my head ever since.
As I was looking at the pics of the guitar I started to think back and I'm almost shure that Ive seen a pics of Joe Perry with one of these maybe it was back in the mid 90's?

Would anyone out there have any pics og Joe Perry with these Mary Kay model, have info on recordings or concert clips where he uses this guitar as I just can't find anything on the internet about him and the guitar? Also any other info on what recordings and pics of others playing, specs Cunetto era/John Cruz made etc. on this particular model would be greatly appreciated, as it seems to me, the info on these models are very hard to find?:o( Is it because these werent that good of quality or were they some sort of limited run????

    Hope anyone can help me.

    Best regards

I don't think it was a specific model, just a nickname for a color.

What's ironic is that Mary Kaye never owned, and rarely played, the Strat that bears her name.

    Apologize for the pic quality.

You miss the grain through the finish and the birdseye and flame combo on the neck.

A fantastic guitar with a very pronounced V shaped neck.

An effortless player that never fails to sound great!

    Light, resonant, and woody.

As much as I like to pay it, I absolutely love to see Mom playing it and singing Piaf.

I'll take a peek at its paperwork next time I can.

    Late 1990's?

If you find one of these with the embossed Custom Shop logo and it's original buy it.

When that one Collings based shop moved down to Dripping before they went under they had one I played a bit.

    Really thought about it.

    Sadly didn't move the money.
