OH, PRAISE GAWD!!! I HAVE FOUND THE TONE!

Ladies and gentlemen, friends and neighbors, wankers, pluckers, pickers, and dumbasses....THE BEATER RAWKS!!

EMG's have been installed and, HAVE MERCY, that's just what the Love Doctor ordered, I want'cha to know.

The Badass II bridge helped, but the po'boy, eBay EMG's took it right over the top. I feel like singing, I tell ya!

I swear to everything righteous and holy, the guitar even plays better. I was wanking up and down the neck, low register, high register, didn't matter...It all sounded simply irresistible.

    Daddy likes!

:yay :blbros :nicholas :wav :wail2 :yes

    The Bastard Beater

Yes, a cheap Jbass clone, an Essex from Rondo Music ala the Orient.

But, I'm amazed at the quality, fit and finish, and price of these guitars. This one costs about $130.

I've now invested less than $250 in it, and now have a great playing TONE MONSTAH worry free from dings, scratches, bonks, and thumps.

It's just a joy to play now!

Well I define a beater bass as, a bass that you can aford to lose, lend or swing at some unsuspecting asshole in that seedy area of town your gig may be at. A bass that doubles as a weapon, a shield (think blues brothers chicken wire scene) a bass on the bottom rung of your arsenal, the one you care least about.

Thanks to ChuckM over in the Dudepit, it's sounding better all the time.

He suggested I take it back to the basics, connect it parallel instead of biamped, turn off the parametric, set everything flat and start from scratch.

We're getting there slowly but surely.

Of course, I heard Claypool last night play every tone variance possible. He went from ultrafreak effects to bow-down-voice-of-god pure.

    wow

Glad you're getting some decent tone out of your rig there buddy! It's a 'comfort' kinda feeling, ain't it?
