The control knobs on my Fender Rumble 500 have become sticky. It is sort of like touching paint that is not completely dry and is tacky. Any idea how to resolve this?

Naptha? It works pretty well on necks, but I don't know what your knobs are made of.

Refrain from eating french fries, onion rings, pizza, etc when manipulating your amp's controls.

Do they have that rubberized "grip" finish on them? That stuff degrades after some years & starts to melt off. I'd see about some replacements.
Thanks Oldstrummer and Cogs for your suggestions. Nothing removes the sticky. I think Cogs is right. They have a rubberized finish that has aged. I will replace them with black knobs that should look better anyway. Thanks for your responses!
Check your pot shafts before buying any replacements -- some are "D" shaped and require a specific type of knob, often with a set screw to hold them securely. Others are fluted and use a push-on style knob. Also note the shaft diameter.

Outstanding. Glad we were able to help.
