Perhaps the GREATEST live album ever recorded!

EVER! (& almost 20 yrs later, lol)
A friend gave me Dwight Yoakam's 1995 release Dwight Live & I am knocked out! What a great bunch of tunes! Pete Anderson is a Fender bender. It sounds like he is playing the middle pickup on a Strat for most of the time.
Great version of Suspicious Minds I have to learn now.

I'm not a country fan, but I'm a fan of DY's music. I get a feeling Nashville and the country music community don't give him his due.

It's definitely country, but there's a bunch of stuff I'd say was R&B, & there's some blues on there, too. Pete Anderson is doing all this rockabilly & rock & roll over this stuff. He even throws in some jazzy chromatic licks in there-

I have a Pete Anderson solo album. It's good stuff, but in my highly subjective opinion, it lacks the magic you find on the DY albums.

In the '90s, Dwight Yokum (with Pete Anderson) was my gateway into country music. I don't listen to a lot of country music and wouldn't call myself a country music fan in general, but I like this.
