    Custom Shop score!

Traded off a Ludwig Classic Maple Zeppelin Kit in Green Sparkle for this bad boy yesterday.

It's a minty NIB NOS Fender CS 1960 Stratocaster in Surf Green with all vintage specs, frets, neck profile, three way switch etc. All I can say is Fenders Custom Shop is the real deal man. I've not played any other Fender instrument that felt or responded like this one does. I'm not changing a THING on it either!

    Re: Custom Shop score!

Still cant get over how good the neck fits the palm, almost like a well used bar of soap what with the fantastically rolled edges and smoothed fret ends. It's a med/thin neck with a very hand pleasing wide C shape and it has a perfect taper starting with .790 1st fret and going up to .940 at the 12th. The neck on this is distinctly different from any AVRI necks or Thin Skin Strats I've owned. As a matter of fact, if this was an AVRI neck and it was this thin I would have passed on it. This one however truly feels crafted and expertly shaped by hand rather than by machine and that it was done by an extremely talented master craftsperson. I'm curious if original vintage Fenders were ever this sweet?

You forgot to mention scalloping the fretboard!

I'm not usually a surf green fan, but that does look great...

Don't forget the locking nut then!

    Not a Kahler?
How about putting locking tuners on to go with the locking nut?

I agree! Once you get used to that level of refinement from Fender it is hard to go back. The same is true for the products from Fender AMP Custom shop too.
