    Fluke meter repairs.

Not sure where to post this but thought I'd share. I have a couple of older Fluke meters, an 87, and an 88. I'm sure everyone is aware of the repair for missing digits, (I've replaced the display connectors on both of mine), but the 87 started eating batteries, and would display partial digits when being handled while switched off. I found through a search, a source that mentioned the carbon on the back of the circuit board could track from use. Took it apart and used q-tips, and toothpicks to clean the area between the carbon traces, reassembled, and all's well. Used it yesterday, no problems, and battery is still good.
