I found them to play nice - but thought the finish was terrible. All the relicing is done on a matte finish so it just doesnt look right. I think you would be better off going the Warmoth / USACG route and throwing lollars in. Save a ton of $ and you can screw up your own finish![]()
"Oh, Mister D.J.,
I keep wondering why you don't play much blues anymore
I don't know what you got against me
Whatever it is, I sure would like to know"
I wasn't impressed with the Nash that I held and played. I'm not a relic fan but this guitar's aging looked really fake. It was a few years ago so maybe they're better now?
In any case, the USACG T-Style that I built myself for well under $800 is a better guitar.
My Nash tele feels and sounds at least as nice as an 'average' CS tele; so does my buddy's.
Maybe we got lucky.
Don't like the 'aging' on it though. Aesthetics don't mean much to me as far as guitars are concerned.
Tone is in the fingers, eh? Let's hear your Vox, Marshall and Fender fingerings then...
I think they're junk & feel bad for those who have spent money on them (sorry, guys). The ones I've seen in my area didn't look aged at all, just finished poorly- w/huge sags in the lacquer, orange peel surfaces from al lack of proper sanding & buffing, & lots of swirls & scratches from steel wool "aging" or something. I've done better in my own garage for a lot less dough.
As far as playablility goes, at least he is starting w/good components. I'd guess that's where that comes from.
No worries--you ain't played mine. It ain't junk; it's usually the belle of the ball.

No doubt; I just think you probably could have done it yourself & got the same results or better for a lot less dough.
*edit* "Junk" was pretty harsh. I am just flabbergasted at all the hullabaloo that is generated around these things. I mean, they're just parts guitars. Anybody that's ever built a Revell B-24 could do what he does. He doesn't do anything but put together some parts & I doubt if he is very discriminating or picky about what he uses. Then he slaps a terrible finish on them & dings them up to cover up that bad job. For what he does to them they should be a whole lot cheaper.

If THAT'S a Revell then I'll be dipped! That looks pretty killer, Rog!
No kidding! That is cool!
Between the coffee, cigarettes and paint fumes, you must keep a pretty good buzz going! Be careful with the X-acto blades!

Great work!
Last model I built was a '71 Ford Mustang Mach 1.
It looked just like my old one so I just had to
have it.
I used to be the kid brother that destroyed my older brother's models.
I still regret that, and so does he.
