O yeah it's gonna be great and your right Stonefreefuzz1, beating The Angels's has never been an easy task.
So let the smack talk and the wacky bets begin people.
My Bil lives In Philly and he's a big Philly Fan. He comes up to visit the Inlaws about once a month.
The Bet : One Official Philly Cheese Steak vs. one New York Steak from a local NY Steak House.
Thats what I wanted and thats what he wanted.
He will be bringing me a Philly Cheese Steak because the Yankees are his Daddy.
lol TB! This series should be fun!

Around your parts They are also booking a lot of golf outings too
(the image of Manny holding the sign that says "Derek Jeter Is Golfing right now" made me do it.)
Sorry I had to Clayville, After the mess (for me) that was 2004 I've been waiting to do that!
I couldn't resist![]()
All in good fun though, since I do have the utmost respect for the Sox who I feel next year will definitely be a force to be reckoned with.

I wish I had your confidence! The way I look at it, the Texiera deal (and you guys pulling Big Papi's shirt out of the stadium foundation) pretty much sealed the BoSox fate for the next three years at least given the state of the free agent market... but hey: we'll see!
It should be fun to say the least! You think they will resign Bay? I heard through the grape vine that King Felix is gonan stay in Seattle and the The Sox might go after Roy Halliday. That would be pretty scary!
The Texiera deal was huge, a power hitting slick fielding first baseman was what we were missing for a long time (Switch hitter too)!
I Thought the Victor Martinez deal you guys made was great. What a fantastic player he is.
RIP Lacey Cat 1992-2009
As great as Victor is, I sort of think of him as an interim catcher. His legs aren't getting any younger and I'm not so sure he could transition to first or DH myself. Also skeptical on whether or not Theo's Numbers Alchemy will let him believe Bay or Holliday are worth what they'll command either in dollars or years... which fills me with trepidation given the dirth of alternatives. Bay has made some outstanding contributions since he's been here, much better than most locals think. But... there's widespread belief that he's a bit fragile, opting-out of the lineup at the last minute over "minor" twinges rather than toughing it out. He's kind of hard to read, but his heart never really seems in it. I'm also a wee bit concerned that the RedSox much-touted farm system has a bit of a hole (two years?) at the top when it comes to trade-bait all of a sudden: guys are either "off limits", or not yet ready.
As usual, the stove will be hot over the winter (I hope). They need power and reliable youth in a few spots soon. Pitching perhaps not-so-much. Wouldn't surprise me much if they dangled Papelbon in the near term with Bard coming on... but if they dish Ellsbury I'll be pissed.
Wish I could say "best of luck" in the Series, but my fingers are crossed for Philly due to ongoing grudges and a desire for drama.

Indeed.
Go, Yankees....as in go down in flames.
![]()
Tone is in the fingers, eh? Let's hear your Vox, Marshall and Fender fingerings then...
One of my regrets is living in Scottsdale AZ for two years and never going to the winter camps!
I never knew until long after I moved to South Carolina what Scottsdale meant for MLB.
OTOH Mickey McDermott bought a beer for me and showed me his World Series ring.
He was driving a white Caddy with a custom AZ "MickyD" plate. This was in '86.
And I saw his team photo just last weekend with the '56 NYY team, along with Mantle.
Edit, I found it.
A ton of legends on that team!
He played for the Red Sox also.

There are alot of "Yankee haters" around, but I don't think it's because they win.I think it's because in the free agency market, they are monetary bullies. They don't "bid" against other teams for a player, they (A) Offer ridiculously more than any other team would dare, which is also (B) way more than the player is worth. The Tex,Ste-Rod and CC contracts are silly, actually.Yes,they are good players----I wish the Braves could have kept Tex.But with a $200 million+ payroll,I think it should be embarrassing to the fans and the team........it's desperation,if you ask me (which you didn't).I would be embarrassed as a fan if the Bravos did that.
It's the Yankees that are keeping the salary surge going-------now Pujols says he wants $30 mil a year,BECAUSE A-Rod is getting that....steroids and all.If no one would offer these salaries,no one would get them. What is Ryan Howard going to want in 4 years? You can bet whatever it is,Steinbrenner will double it.
Never forget 2003-------a $53 million Marlins team beat a $150 million Yankee team,in SIX games.Yet,Steinbrenner keeps trying to buy a championship.Maybe he will succeed this year, but to me,the Yanks have ruined baseball.
Anyway,I digress----------it's going to be a great World Series!

Let the beatdown begin.
Game 2: just wanted to note that I thought Pedro pitched a helluva game in a losing effort, through 99 or so pitches. I haven't seen a breaking ball as nasty or as perfectly placed as the one Texeria golfed into right in a good long while, and that hit was the back-breaker. That pitch, that hit.... that was the ball game imho.
Pedro pitched a fantastic game, His curve was out of control, That pitch Teixeira hit was a great pitch, fortunately for him (and me!) he got a hold of it. Now we got a series!
RIP Lacey Cat 1992-2009
Always fun to beat up Pedro. The Yankees are his Daddy.
By far the best pitcher has been Cliff Lee. Holy Crap that guy was good.
Great Series. I can taste that Philly Cheese Steak.
Pettite and Hamels today,I believe.
Ryan Howard will go deep.

Gritty job by Pettitte, especially great handling Howard and Utley, Phew! I was getting nervous! Tomorrow should be fun, Giants - Eagles, Yanks - Phillies. Can't wait!
RIP Lacey Cat 1992-2009
Yeah that was " Gritty" Yanks up 2-1 Woo Hoo !
Wierd today how the Giants and Jets play at the same time. Quess I'll have to watch Packers - Vikings @ 4pm.
Pettite still has it..........got in a little trouble, but the Yanks slugged him out of it.It all started when Hamels threw him a curve to hit!
We'll see Blanton and CC tonight.

Woo Hoo... Yanks Lead Series 3-1
I can taste that Philly Cheese Steak.
I knew when Lidge came in,it might be a tough go.............
the Phillies are going to have to acquire a closer next year and trade Lidge,or make him a setup guy.
It ain't over yet (remember '04),but the fat lady might be practicing some scales.Burnett and Lee tonight.

Both Burnett and Lee pitched GEMS the last time, should be fun!
RIP Lacey Cat 1992-2009
I really hope they end it tonight. My wife and I are going to Atlantic City for a few days on Wednesday and I don't want to have to spend my evenings watching baseball. But if it's still going on, I will.

I don't. I'm not a fan of either team, but I like to see a good fight and I'm not ready for it to end!
Burnett got SHELLED! Cliff Lee was great for most of the game, Yanks made it interesting toward the end, Back to the Bronx we go!
I will be in attendance![]()
RIP Lacey Cat 1992-2009
I think the Yanks are getting complacent about Ryan Howard, since he has struck out so many times.....watch him in the Bronx!
It's a tough battle still,but if NY loses....let's see.....payroll next year will be $275,000,000?
Maybe they can get some stimulus money..........

I wouldn't mind seeing that new Yankee Stadium suffer a century long Curse Of The Damon, or something.
But really, I'd like it wrap up quickly, so I don't have to share the train with over-imbibed adults in licensed MLB gear, to AND from the game.
