    I Miss My Motorcycle :_{

Sold my last bike (H-D Dyna Street Bob) about two years ago and really miss riding.
I sold it to get my financial house as lean as possible, kind of had a feeling the economy would tank. That said I still miss it and have had thoughts of getting a new bike.

I find myself cruising the BMW site quite often or looking for a great deal on a used Dyna or Road King.

I know they're somewhat dangerous and it feels good to NOT have another payment, insurance, property tax, etc, but this time of year was always my favorite time to ride.
Autumn in NC is awesome and you could ride from the coast to the mountains in about half a day!

Still have all my riding gear btw

    Those BMWs are very tempting.

I'm looking at the F800GS to replace my aging KLR650.

I'm not much of a Harley fan (I prefer smaller, sportier bikes) but I was at the Harley dealer with a friend yesterday and the Buells were deeply discounted (about $5k off!) due to them being discontinued. The Lightning caught my eye.

Unfortunately, I'm not in the market for a bike (or any other luxury item).

I hear ya, I keep a bike at my holiday home in France (BM 650 Dakar) and miss it dearly when I'm not there.
Having said that they are v dangerous and just recently I have lost a good friend, had one sustain a permanent limp and one partially paralysed!

    Be careful bud.

    Dangerous ?

Everytime I hear and or read that I think, my brother died in a car in 75. Maybe I shouldn't drive a car and I don't think so. Drive fast, take chances. Someday we are all gonna be dead. I'm not gonna live a boring life playing it safe. Yeah I have had a accident or 2 over the years and so what.

Thats sucks Muddy but I'll ride for ya.

Here's a litte video I made with my kids a few years ago I like Cheese

My bike looks quite differant now, wierd

Ya, ya, ya...I was Laker in another life. Oops, I'm still Laker and a Harley ridin' believer to the bitter end. We've covered so many, many roads in this great country allowing us to hit all 48 contiguous states, and other roads allowing many Canadian provinces and Mexico.

Answering the initial question - You don't stop living life because something could happen...for the cripes sakes, you could get gonorrhea, did that stop your sex life?

At this point in my aged life I wouldn't ride anything but a Harley...the rest are all wanna-bees.

Well, all my past road bikes have been Harley-Davidsons but from what I've heard from owners, the BMWs are outstanding motorcycles and hardly wanna-bees imo (apples / oranges).

All my H-D bikes were solid running dependable machines for the record.

    ah memories..

I got too un-trusting of other drivers so I sold it..

a true multi-purpose bike. Ice raced it in the winter, trail rode in the summer, drove it to and from the trail rides and worked well for around town (under 50mph) sounded like a briggs and straton lawn mover at 3500 RPM and got close to 50 mpg.. topped out around
95mph and the 500cc vibrated like a paint shaker..

    my yamaha
do I look like I know what I'm doing?

I might as well post a picture of our current ride. This one is an '08 Harley Ultra running 103 stage II kit with Rinehart tru-duals and some other little custom touches. This was shot when we returned home from a run down to Texas in June.
