It'll be really popular with all the folks who own two-tone sunburst strats made of flame maple.
    Several guitars in different colors
    Things to make them fuzzy
    Things to make them louder
    orange picks

Book matched flamed maple is so historically Fender.
    Really takes you back.

I'm waiting for the Joe Strummer.
    Maybe the John5 Tele-phone.

Will there be a companion iPod......something in tweed, perhaps?

    Re: Another Fender first!!!

I was suprised to see it didn't come with a tweed case, heck not even a gig bag.

Seriously though, the bookmatched flame maple sunburst appointments speak more instantly of Gibson to me more than it does Fender. Someone in marketing didn't do a great deal of research. Of course, you never know, this might have been shopped to Gibson first and Henry didn't bite.

    That's funny right there!

Ya think they'd show a pic of Jimi kneeling over one on stage with a can of lighter fluid?

Better have a humbucker. Cool idea but about as "Fender" as my blender. Daphne blue, wbw plastic and a whammy bar flip-open spring please. It could double as a nose-pick(er) while your talking. Dive bomber boogerator. "Hold on honey, I got a flake to shake."

Hey, if it was a flip phone they could make the top half bigger, and call it the "70's big headstock reissue".

Whatever it is or does, it better have a tuner built in. And a bluetooth transponder to plug into your guitar. A portable practice amp. You can call your buds and play them your latest licks.

A CS edition with point-to-point wiring and a finger jointed 5-ply birch shell would be sweet.
