    Guitar Pal

I left Germany 6 years ago after being there for a decade. While there, I played in a great band, and the other guitarist and I have remained friends. He was just here to visit, and we had some great jams. It was the first time in 6 years that I've had a decent jam. There's nothing like playing guitars with a great friend.

We're both Strat players, but we love our Gibbys too. Here are our guitars, enjoying their visit together.

    Re: Guitar Pal

Thanks, guys. My Les Paul is backwards, but so am I. BTW, that 335 is a beautiful sounding guitar. If they made that block fretboard in lefty, I'd have some serious G.A.S.

    Re: Guitar Pal

I'm surprised they don't...there seems to be a good number of lefty guitars nowadays.

Of course if you did the old Dale/Hendrix thing and flipped a right-hander upside down the volume/tone controls would be a helluva lot easier to reach. Food for thought..

You'd just want to have a right-angle plug on your cord.

    Hey, I found one:

Ok, I made it in Paint... Looks pretty good though. And you may not have to use a right-angle plug after all, depending on your playing style.

    Re: Guitar Pal

    You'd need a left-angle plug, wouldn't you?

(The first thing I looked at in that picture was the peghead, to see if the "Gibson" was backwards. When I saw it wasn't, I thought "Wow, it's real." )

    Re: Guitar Pal

I've tried to play an upside down righty, and I couldn't get used to the controls. I'd never want to move the knobs and patch the holes. I've got a lefty Sheraton, so that'll have to do me until I can slide an ES-335 through the door.

Yeah, I never knew Chuck looked at me that way. I'm not exactly round, soft, or perky, or anything....

Is it just the block inlay thats keeping you from a 335? If so a good luthier can do that for you.

Didn't say I'd buy one--said I'd have G.A.S. for one. It is on my list of must-haves. So is the Rickenbacker 325. I'll only be able to think of these once my kids are through college. In the meantime, I'm happy enough with my Sheraton.

Thanks, refin. I'm sort of struck on it too.
