"trying to dislodge it from a tuna fish can"

    Speaking of WTF...

Book claims Ted Williams’ head mistreated

    This paragraph takes the prize:

Williams' severed head was then frozen, and even used for batting practice by a technician trying to dislodge it from a tuna fish can.

What the living f*ck was going on in that place?! (And exactly how generous is their definition of "technician"?)

I understand it took ten attempts to hit it four times.

    That's interesting.

Sports fans, didn't Ted have something like a .400 lifetime batting average?

What a shame that such a great ball player will be mostly remember'd for cryonics and cryonic mishaps.

I know he averaged .406 in 1941. I think he's the only player to top .400 for a single season (or maybe the only one to do it in the past 68 years). I can't be sure, but I think Kap was making a joke based on that very fact.
