    old board, new arrangement!

i was building a new board, but bought a different glue than i normally do... so i went to plan B. i swapped my guitar pedals onto my old "crazy bass" board. the signal chain consists of an EB jr. vol pedal (with the tuner out sent to a TU2), a klon, an analogman modded SD9, a marshall reflector, into a DD5 with a tap button. we'll see how this works out, but i really want to throw on a phase 90 or flanger. i can't ever seem to get away from mod pedals, my achilles' heel really. just like the mechanic's car...

What amp are you using with the reverb pedal, Chuck-O. I have a hard time getting external reverb to work well with amps that aren't designed with it in mind.
    Several guitars in different colors
    Things to make them fuzzy
    Things to make them louder
    orange picks

I've gotten where I can' play w/o a wah. I just have a really OLD one that I swapped one cap in for a real vowel-y almost Mutron-ish sound. Keep meaning to try another inductor I have laying around and maybe put some kind of blocking on the travel control. I don't rock it much, just in this one nano-spot where it crys and warbles. My goal is to make it sound like a freaky sax or Ray Charles singing on acid... :-O

it's a custom amp my buddy built for me, based on a matchless lightning with 12v6's instead of 6v's. about 10 watts push pull into a jensen 8". i haven't gotten a chance to fire up the board thru it, so that pedal is tentative at the moment. if it doesn't work out i'm gonna splurge on a DD3 for slapback fauxverb.

i like wah's too gris, in fact i have three, a 10 year old vox with is nice and grindy sounding. a 20 year old dunlop which is super smooth. and a super old dunlop that i haven't even plugged in yet...

i don't play the wahs unless i'm doing covers.

I use the wah most on jam band type leads. 'Conversing' with the keys guy and myself, LOL.

Here's my pedalboard. The signal comes from the guitar into the modded Crybaby (Fasel Inductor, Q-mod and blue LED) on to the Boss NS-2 (which is being replaced tonight with a ISP Decimator G-String I recieved today!) the loop on the NS-2 has the Cheezeblocks A/B/True-bypass on it which controls the Monte Allums modded OD-3 and MT-2. From there the signal goes to a Cheezeblocs A/B swtich with (2) Boss DD-3's (slap delay on one and long delay on the other) and from there to a Cheezeblocks dual looper with a Boss CH-1 on oen side and a Line 6 Roto-machine on the other. And from that looper the signal goes into the Xotic RC boost to give everything a little kick in the ass... but transparently! I also have a Digitech Harmony Man I use but it isn't shown in this picture. THe power is supplied to 8 of the pedals via a Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2 plus and a One-Spot. Everything is mounted on a Pedaltrian II HC. This baby gets me No-gain, Lo-gain and Hi-gain along with the effects I use most often.

Thanks Stonefree! I like it myself. It was a "work in progress" so to speak over the last couple of years. But I think I have it the way I want it now.

I dig pedalboard porn almost as much as guitar porn.

    There, I said it.

hey, minor league baseball games are fun to watch eli! LOL.

cool board DZ! i like to use loopers too, might put one on this board but the delay doesn't seem to be sucking any tone, i personally don't really care for boss buffers.

    thanks mr. fuzz.

maybe we should spin off another thread and see if anyone else has some new boards rolling? it's been awhile since we've had the whole post your board thread.

DZ i love my Xotic effects RC Booster. Tonally neutral guitar clean boost!Basically just makes a clean amp louder, but will push a margianally distorted NMV amp just OTT to get a solid crunch, while not losing the chaerecter of the original signal. I see you are using it like a buffer? Or to send an strong clean signal throughout the pedal train?

I've used it on the front end of the signal chain as well as how I have it in this configuration which is like you said a buffer. Works well both ways! I didn't realize how much it really made an amp sound "bigger" until I played a set with another band using the guitarists rig... I kept wanting a little more out of the rig... and couldn't get it! BTW... I replaced the Boss NS-2 with a ISP Decimator G-String last night that came in UPS. I really like it a lot better already. I still haven't found the exact sweet spot because the area I have my gear setup in has three computers, two crt's and a regular picture tube TV in it so the noise floor is really out of control but it definitely makes everything quiet! As did the NS-2 but it sucks tone and didn't seem to track the signal as quickly. The ISP sounds exactly like the guitar tone but without the noise.

Thanks Chucko! The only reason I'm using an A/B on the delays is that I didn't really dig the sound of putting a long delay over the slap delay I use for rhythm parts. I know Joe Satriani does a multiple delay arrangment like that but I couldn't never get it to do what I wanted. The other A/B/True bypass keeps me from having to "tap dance" to switch from clean to overdriven to hi-gain stuff with the tap of 1 switch. Of course to go clean I just hit the bypass. The looper serves the same purpose to an extent except keeping the Roto-machine and Chorus out of the signal path until I want either. And the RC boost is being used as a line buffer/clean boost. It makes the whole rig shine!

very cool. i built my buddy a three looper so he could switch between 3 different OD's for the same reason, less dancing and he can quickly go back to clean when needed. rock on brutha!

here's my new layout. goes tuner, dynacomp, visual sound jekyl & hyde, dunlop wah, fab-echo, modtone paser, modtone trem, modtone clean boost. have yet to plug it in, so i don't know how the clean boost works, but the new phaser sounds great, and the trem seemed pretty nice at the store...
