Best pickups for a "Hendrix" guitar?

When it comes to Strats I'm pretty much a Fender Custom Shop guy, but just for kicks I just got a very cool brand new left handed Nash Strat which turned out to be an excellent guitar which comes from Nash with Lollar pickups in it. I'm right handed so this is my attempt to have some fun trying to dial in a bunch of old Hendrix songs.

Although the Lollars sound great, I'd like to experiment with some other pickups because the Lollars have flat pole pieces and I'm trying to go for a true Hendrix thing.

Fender does not sell any reverse staggered pickups these days unless they go out the door in left handed guitars so I'm looking at a bunch of other options...

    1) Have MJ at Seymour Duncan wind me something to order...

    2) Have Lindy Fralin wind me something to order...

    3) Buy the Fender '69 Custom Shop pickups and modify them so I can flip them over and try to get them to fit the routes.

    Any recommendations?

Don't try to modify existing pu's, you'll likely kill them. Would be easier just to rout the guitar to accept a Strat pu facing either way.

Otherwise, just have somebody make you some lefties. There are folks who will do it.

Seems like there are some good makers who stock them. Just having a senior moment (alcohol assisted) right now... :-)

Any alnico V's with individual polepeices should get you there.
