I got me a Peavey Valveking Royal 8. The original speaker was crap, my dealer upgraded it to a Celestion Super 8 for just 20 euros. This should be great for learning about tube amps and doing some simple modifications.
Hey Tobe - nice score but... I wouldn't invalidate yer warrantee by messin' around with it... enjoy it and save up for a kit if you want to get into messin' around with 'em... and do lots of reading

Any excuse to show my presents to myself!! Just before Christmas I ended up buying no less then 3 amps over a period of a few weeks. Here is one. I will show the others later so you can savour the thought of what ownership is like, and that first morning after the purchase feeling when you walk in the room and it is sitting there waiting to be explored, for hours and hours and hours!!
