Question about my American Made HR Deluxe

Hi, I have a very good condition American Made (june 97) HR deluxe. I am selling it as I need to buy new drums, but I am just curious. Should I be asking more for the American made one rather then what the Mexican made ones are going for? I would think so but not quite sure.

    Thanks for any help!

Re: Question about my American Made HR Deluxe

There is nothing better about the American made HRDeluxes. As a matter of fact, they're less likely to be in good shape as they don't have the benefit of the revised circuit (happened in 2002) with better jacks, and they have had more 'cooking' time. The HRDeluxes and DeVilles all have an area in the circuit that suffer from heat damage. The older the amp, the more time to have the effects from the hot components cooking the PCBs.

Doesn't matter where it's made...until Fender figures out a way to get those 5W cement power resistors for the channel-switching up off the PCB, there's going to be problems.

Just my thoughts. I personally wouldn't pay any more for an older HRD because it's US-made...I'd actually pay less; all depending on age. But then, I'm not in the market for your amp, so, I hope you get a good sale.

    TJ is the man.

I'd like to add, however, that if you're going to sell it, you're probably better off making a big deal about it being American made. Guitarists are ignorant, you know? They hear that something is older, they immediately assume it's better.
    s'all goof.

Well I just sold it today, for $500. I am happy to get that much, but also sad to lose the amp.

You got an absolutely fabulous deal! It couldn't have cost much more than that, new, in '97.

    Nice! That's a great sell.

Be happy you got yours sold before you started having problems.
