    Which Marshall to keep???

I have two Marshalls, a 1961A cabinet 2-12 in mint condition and a Marshall AVT 4-12 cabinet minty too. Both cabinets have Celestions.Which one would you sell? how much? and why? I have the matching Valvestate VS100 head and a MG 100 head.

    I'd keep the former...

Definitely the former. The AVT is a dime a dozen amp.

Sell all the AVT stuff and either get a good 412, or but another more modern Marshall.

This pup smells a "Want to Sell" ad.

But I have a flaky nose anyways. :)

I can sell either locally, so I am not trying to sell it here. both cabinets are 200 watts. now which head? the VS100 Valvestate or the MG100?

Whether anyone would want a 2x12 or 4x12 is really a matter of either application or personal preference. Not sure how this will help you, but I would sell the 4x12. Actually I'd sell both, I like basketweave.

I believe you that you wouldn't try to sell here, packing and shipping either cab would be a nightmare. But still I would just sell whatever you're not using......

MG has a garbage reputation, to be polite.
Either get rid of it, or keep it around the house if you like the sound of it.

Keep the 1961A cabinet and get rid of everything else... then take that extra coin and buy yourself a tube combo or head. That way you can use the Marshall cab for larger gigs with the combo or use with a tube head. Just my .02 cents!

    Re: Which Marshall to keep???

I looked at a few Marshall cabs a couple years ago when I had a DSL100. The 1961A should be better quality than the AVT. Personally I'd sell both those heads and get something with tubes in it.

yes the VM is wonderful amp very tasty tone with
    those KT66's

the most important thing with your marshall cabs is the speakers
almost any cab can sound good with tastey speakers.
I use Heritage G12H greenback reissues, the tastiest speaker they make.
