Behold my Old Gibson Amp I bought

I'm going to put an Emi Lil Buddy hempcone in it to try and make it a little fuller and smoother as I've heard these old Gibbys can be on the bright/thin side when cranked up.
I didnt buy it primarily for sound, although Ive heard the Reverb and Tremolo are good. No....
I bought it for the Gibson Mystique!

Yeah, the LiL Buddy will do that for sure. here is a cut and paste (long) link to some tinkering for that one.

Cool. I've got a remarkably similar amp in my basement. Might even be the same model.

IIRC, they use interstage transformers, and are not going to be real grind machines. REcapping them is a bit of a pain, because they use these funky 'Siamese' filter caps.

    What's the funky (and non-original if the amp's a '67) Jensen?

Oddly enough mine has a replacement "Pyle Driver" in it that has the exact same dust cap.

I wonder then if it was a case of the crazy '70s...

I owned the same amp and bought it new in like '67 or '68 when I was just a kid. Wish I still had it but my friends Deluxe Reverb was way better.

Sort of a poor mans Deluxe. It had reverb and a way cool tremolo.
Really cut my teeth on that amp. I would love to play through that one again!
