Well this guy had IT........he had the whole 70's funk thing down! He wa sfunt o watch and really great to hear! I wish I could have lifted some of his techniques.....

two things.....lok at him next to the Kick Drum........

He IS friggin Huge....but that is a small DW kit - 13" kick......it sounded like a million bucks!

I offered to share the night at the jam i play at and would supply the rig.....it would be a whole different vibe for him......

I tried and tried to get the same sounds out of my Peavey Tmax and tech 21 sansamp heads....in to the Music man, Ampeg, Avatar and even the old Peavey 2-15........I just couldn't reproduce that sound......it has to be in the Solid State HiFi Yamaha and EV speaker, along with his bass........and I know.......Of course HIS fingers!

But my bass had a lot of that snort too.....through his rig.

Krist Novoselic used that model bass with Nirvana in the early days. I always liked the tones from it.

I love that style Ibanez logo. My JTK1 has it in black.

    Hippiebob -

What model is it? I had never seen one quite like it......a scroll cut out on the head, along the lower edge....black Lacquer/MOP pickguard.....

It was VERY 70's I mean......wow.....get my platforms and fro pick and Superfly hat out !........

Hmm...I believe the model was Ibanez Black Eagle Bass, but I'm gonna have to look it up.

    There's part of it.

    Another shot.

Perhaps this is the same bass, with a new neck. Nirvana were not known for babying and polishing their instuments after shows...

Here's a recent pic of it.

In case you wanted a stock pic of another Black Eagle in comparison:

I knew a guy with a similar thing. Though it was perhaps a bit more P-shaped. It was a cool bass.

Is that Kendrick amp for harp? It looks awesome!

FWIW, the Ibanez i'm familiar with didn't have a pickguard either.

The black pickguard with the eagle thing is stock. It looks to me like Krist just took the pg off.
