Will 53 PG fit 51 Reissue???

Hi all, newbie here,first post(been a LPF member for a while) Here's my question... After looking on ebay for a white pickguard for my '51 reissue, I found a '53 PG that was laminated w/b/w and the seller said that it would not fit the '51....Anyone know why?(I've sent 2 messages with no reply yet...) Is it a screw hole matchup issue? Is this the same for the Tele Bass too? I want to change the PG from the black to white but would prefer the laminated w/b/w....I guess I could settle for the one ply white, but if it is just a matter of adding screw holes, I'm not opposed to do so. Help and thanks!!!

I think it's mainly a hole issue...although if it came off a contoured early p-bass, it will be a different size.
