Wave Invasion at the Oak Tree Festival today 5/18

Wave Invasion will be performing at the Oak Tree Festival in Glendora today from 3PM to 5 PM. Here's your chance to see what Wave Invasion is all about for free. It's going to be hot and I just don't mean the weather.

Wave Inavsion was invited to play the Oak Tree Festival in Glendora this weekend. As we arrived there was a band onstage doing some Tom Petty and sounding pretty good. As they finished and were taking their gear offstage they saw my Showman and expressed how great it was that someone was still using the old classic gear instead of hording it in a collection. They almost fainted when I took the cover off of the blond Bassman. This led to a nice discussion about vintage gear we've owned and how it wasn't vintage gear when we bought it. We did 2 hours of our material and had people there the entire afternoon considering the temperature was near triple digits when we took the stage at 3PM. There was a sort of Surf/Hawaii theme to the day and they had surfboards all around the stage and a Hawaiian band to follow us for a Luau. I used my reverse 60 strat all day because it was feeling good and staying in tune, I used the Bassman on my side of the stage and used the Showman to power a cabinet with a Celestion Sidewinder on Gary's side of the stage. The crew there just let us play at the volumes we wanted and mixed in what they needed for the PA. It was great to work with a crew that didn't want too turn us down and mic everything. We did our usual bit where we invite the kids up but there were so many people that wanted to join in we opened it up to all carbon based life forms.

The show went great and we've already been invited back for next year and met up with a few more promoters so it was a great day.
