    57/62s vs. Custom '54s

...according to the Fender website both are vintage sounding pu-sets.
I already did a search here, but I'm still curious: How do they compare? Similarities/differences?
I want to try something more classic, less powerful than the Tex-Mex set, which I'm using now.

    Thanks, Steffe

I know this isn't quite what you're looking for, but what the heck. I have a nice CS 1960 strat in which I replaced a set of Texas Specials with the Custom Shop '54. I haven't looked back since. The only thing the TS have going for them is the sound of the neck PU when using overdrive. Other than that the 54's sound smoother, sweeter and much, much better for cleans. I have them at the same height as I did the TS; almost flush with the pickguard.
