    Unidyne III 545SH

I was given a good speciman of one of these mics the other day, and other than plugging it into my amp to see if it worked, I have not had a chance to try it at all.

I understand that it is the forerunner of the Shure SM 57 and has the same basic guts.

Is anyone using one of these? This one came with cable and a short stand for close mic'ing amps, kick, etc......

I thought it was a nice gift.......its even better if it works!

The price makes it one of the best microphones available to me in the entire universe!

I have one. It sounds just like a 57 to me. A friend gave it to me saying I could have it if I fixed it. Resoldered wire - good as new. Everbody used them in the sixties/early 70's.

I still use one, and if you need to it can be wired either as a high or low impedance mic.
