I'm not much for perloid but to each his own. Thats the beauty of strats, there so customizable. Have you thought about a white or cream perloid

I like the Fender mint green colour along with aged white knobs and pickup covers.

For a black Strat, a three ply BWB pickguard with black pickup covers, black knobs with white lettering and black saddles on a chrome base can look pretty cool. Black metal knurled barrel knobs can be a good alternative look in this colour scheme too.

MOTU plastic always looks a little overdone to me, you may get tired of the look in the not too distant future: but each to their own.

    +1, Strats are very customisable.

I have a black pearl guard on my Zencaster (body is reddish mahogany woodgrain), and I have white pickup covers but black knobs and switch tip. I like it.

What color is your Strat? If it's black, may I suggest a torty PG -- I just like the looks of that combo. Olympic white body? I did mine in a white pearloid. Sunburst? Minty green a-la Robert Cray. Sweet!
