    The Vox AD30VT sounds very good at low volume...

    My Vox AD30VT sounds very good at low volume, especially the hi-gain settings and it is very responsive to the pick attack.

    In other words the vox seems to simulate very well the output tube distortion and compression of an all-tube amp, as long as you keep it at low to moderate volume.

    Anyone can recommand an an all-tube amp that would sounds as good at low volume than the vox?

    Thanks for your inputs!

    The newer version of the Epi Valve Junior can get some sweet tones, especially with a nice el84 in it.

    Thanks for your inputs guys.

    Other choices available are;
    Fender princeton recording amp (expensive: 1000$ US)
    Peavey JSX Mini Colossal Amp (not out yet)
    Nano head (expensive too considering it's a head only)

    Any comments about these?

    +1 for the Epi Valve Jr.

    I agree on the Vox at low volume, although my 60VTX actually maintains that tonality pretty well as it gets loud, unique among the modellers I've tried.

    The new Peavey Windsor Studio combo looks really cool, also, but is apparently a ways off. Should street for less than half the Princeton, though.

    I'll take a look at the windsor Jack.

    Refin, do the Epi sounds good right out of the box?

    Where can I listen to sound clips recorded with it please?
