    Fender Super Reverb Reissue

    Hi,
Ive read some nice reviews on this amp. I live in Chile, South America, so there is no way I can try it out.

    I know its 4 x 10, 40 watts.

    Its it too loud?

    Cleans? Does it break up?
    Wight

How is it compared to the twin 85 watt reissue in all I mentioned before?

Right now I have a princeton reverb, looking for that sound but with a little more clean room in loudness

So how bout the super reverb, whats good, whats bad?

    Thanks
    Andrew

I've had both amps and they served me well. Ended up selling the TRRI to finance something else that was probably a waste of $. Wish I'd kept it now.

As some of the other posts have alluded to, the TRRI is MAJOR loud (almost unusably so) and MAJOR heavy. It sounds great but for 90%of club gigs its just too much overkill. The SRRI can be plenty loud but its manageable. Its more capable of break-up than a TRRI although mine was biased on the cold side. I prefer a fairly clean tone so I can't give you any personal experience on that. I sold the SRRI to help finance a Bad Cat purchase. Shortly after doing so, the guy I sold it to said it died. I got rid of it at the right time I guess. The SRRI is not nearly as heavy as a Twin but with 4x10s its a bulkier amp so there is a tradeoff of sorts there.

The Super Reverb is currently my favorite Fender amp. I love it.

I found a used SF (74) for $600 at a pawn shop. Missing one of the original speakers though.

But when I have played them on stage they can have some color to them when playing through an LP. Pehaps just a bit of speaker compression.

What I love about them is running them near-dimed, hitting an E cord at the end of a song, and then just listening to the rumbling thunderous sustain fade away.
