And now the latest from eBay...

    http://cgi.ebay.com/1965-Fender-Stra...QQcmdZViewItem

Found this on the Home Recording forum.

They're all squabbling over there about how it has been taken apart and therefore is no longer "original" and what-not.

Thought you folks might wanna take a gander.

    The body looks too clean.

$33K for a CBS? Yikes. Glad I gave up on the vintage thing.

Way too clean. My 72 isn't that clean even with the two inches of poly on it.

I would want that '65 Fender catalog authenticated first

Yeah, and the picks too. Anyone know how to spot original picks from the 60's?

Nice looking axe, but yeah, I don't believe that's the original paint-job. Unless it's been vacuum-bagged and stored under the bed for the last 30 years.

I think its all original. Ive seen em that clean before. I think people are so used to seeing Relics a clean original one draws suspect.

    Nice guitar!

    I bet from a collectors perspective...33k isn't that much.
It will probably be a good investment.

Les Pauls are going for what 100-300k right?

Man I wish they still made necks like that with the rosewood "veneer" board. I've liked every one I've tried so far, but those guitars are always so pricey.

Here's the clincher: "...it nails that classic '60's Strat tone. "

    It's beautiful.
Were they still using nitro in 65?

The routs seem really clean for it to have been messed with.

I might not like if it had a matching headstock.

    Nitro bunnies

Good band name. For 35k they can keep it. I'll buy another house first.

They usually call guitars that are this clean 'Closet Classics' because they have very little use and have spent most of their existence in a closet.

    Really nice axe!
