My daughter moved out and took little Cameron's bass amp with her.
Now I need to replace it. It was a 15w Kustom amp, but I'd like something with more power, but my budget is about $100.00.
What would be a good option?

This is close to your budget.

If you can spare a little bit more, this will be more useful for jams and/or gigs...

I have the BX1200 and it works great for jamming and gigs. You just can't beat it for the money.

I have a GK backline 11o - if you run it through a 2x15 it will keep up with an energetic drummer. With out, the 70W will almost get you there. I don't think a single 10" will do that with any amount of wattage
You can find then used near that price- worth checking out, anyway
do I look like I know what I'm doing?
Well, I'm not crazy about Behringer, but I may not be able to be picky in this situation.
The 450 looks good. It's really for my kid to practice with, but I'm hoping he learns to play small gigs with it... with me, that its...

I don't have any experience with Bheringer guitar stuff, in fact the only thing by them I have played is my BX1200, but it is really nice. Built like a tank. Sounds great. It has RCAs for practice, headphones, direct out for PA, etc. When I looked around, you just can't touch what you get for the price. Its worth checking out if your local store has them.

I've heard of people using the Crate Power Block for bass, at least as a backup.

For practice, it should be okay.
Of course, you'll need a cabinet.
But the amps are being "blown out" now for $99.

In chicago there are always bass amps going for around $100
on the craig's list. Recently I bought a crate 100W as a housewarming present for a friend (with a great jamming basement) for $75.
Depending on where you are I'd check the (online) classifieds and go used.
You won't get pro tone for that kind of $, but you can get enough balls
for good fun/practice.
I've been able to find Peavey Microbass amps in that price range but a few Pawn shop stops and you might find a bigger/older Peavey like a TKO for $100. I've also seen some Fender SS bass amps in that range.

If aliens listened to our current top 40, they'd think that the entire planet was populated by sexually ambivalent robots with ethnic insecurity.
Shop around for a used 1x15 or 1x12 combo. Peaveys, Fenders, Crates, and Ampegs are all common, and one really won't sound too much better than any other in that price range.
If you decide to go with something new, I think the SWR LA Series are probably the best bang for the buck.
"Go Team Venture!"
my memory is slipping, the GK backlines are more like $250
sorry for the mis-information
do I look like I know what I'm doing?
I really prefer to get something new. Not that there is anything wrong with used, but in this case, I think I'm going to go new.

Well, it has to do with no cash, but I have lots of MF credit.... I'm quite a bit in the hole because of the books... I doubt I'll ever break even, but it really is not about making money. It's for personal enrichment, and if it makes me feel good and others too, I don't mind being in the hole on this stuff.... Now my wife... that's another story....

Funny you ask...
A coworker of mine was a drummer touring the world with Freddie Hart (I have no idea how to spell that name).
He said that the bass player used to practice through a little Pignose.
Of course, it's not a lot of amp for the money, it sounds like shit and you can never gig with it, but they're so damn cute!
I don't recomend one at all. Just relating a useless story.
Photot......
go to MF, and check out the stupid deal of the day,.....$99.99
120W 15" combo. not a Eden, Aguilar or Ampeg....but a 120W 15" bass amp for 99.99
