Re: Best Tube Combo Under $1,000?

I just purhcased a Crate V Series 3112....I think this is the best amp for the money....

Go to Eurotubes.com and switch the tubes over to JJs/Tesla.....
....The clean and overdrive from this little crate is out of this world....from clean Jazz to classic rock, to country...this amp is very versatile.

I had a Fender 410 Deville....didn't like the build quality(see my post on my buzzing deville in this forum) and the tone of the overdrive was a little flat for me.

+ Crate has a 5 year transferrable warranty....

    my 2 cents

    Joe

I've had both and I definately prefer the PJ. I use it for practices and in low volume gig situations. Its easy to throw in your trunk as a backup. great with pedals and it records really well. This was a real winner for Fender IMHO.

Well, you can buy them under a grand, and they have the fender uber-clean thing down well, but they're not my cuppa. They always strike me as kind of cold until they're at ear-bleeding volumes. Then there are the size and weight issues.
    Several guitars in different colors
    Things to make them fuzzy
    Things to make them louder
    orange picks
