    Late summer vacation up California...

Most of you may not remember me since I haven't been posting for a while (just lurking), but I will be making a road trip starting today from L.A. to Humboldt County making many stops along the way. If you live somewhere off the 101 in central to northern California and want to meet a fellow TFFer give me a holler:) My gf has her lap top so I can check email (when she lets me)....

Ah, the Snake River, the Eel, the Giant Redwoods--have a great time, my favorite places to camp, although I haven't been out there for a few years. I took the old '62 VW camper van up the coast, camping here and there for a couple of months, swam in all the rivers, hiked the trails, found god, you know all the regular stuff you encounter on road trips!

I would only travel a hundred or two miles per day (the old VW liked to go slow) and sometimes stayed for many days in one place if I liked it; if not I'd move on the next day. All the way up California, did the loop through Grants Pass, Oregon, then back down via the 5 and Shasta, then over to Lassen (climbed the volcano), through Susanville, the downward trail through Reno, the 395 and the other side of California (High Sierras), Red Rock Canyon and finally home. I want to go back...
