This is my Danelectro Longhorn Bass. It's great for jamming because the shorter 30" scale makes it easier for a guitar player to play bass for a couple of numbers. The light weight body makes it easy to play for hours and between the two pickups you can get some pretty good sounds.

This is my GRD Bass built in 1980 master luthier Charles Fox when he was running his Guitar Research and Design company in Vermont. This bass features a Honduran Mahogany body and neck with Indian Rosewood slabs on the front and back of the body. The neck has a brass nut and a phenolic fingerboard. The bridge is mounted on a massive brass block that makes this thing ring for days. There's also a 6 band graphic equalizer built in as well as micro switches to switch the pickups from Humbucking to single coil mode and another to put them out of phase with each other. The 4th switch turns on the equalizer. There's one volume and one tone knob and the pickup selector is actually a fader that lets you fade between the pups and get all sorts of in between sounds.
