    help me get my tone

    i have a nice silvertone twin twelve which i play totally wide open whenever i play it but i need more gain and focus. i really really dig EVH's and Slash's tone and id like to get a pedal that will give me as close to their tone as i can get. once again im gunna be playing my amp wide open so i dont need someone to tell me how to use a tube amp lol. in addition, what effect(s) are used in the intro tapping portion of hot for teacher? ive heard phase 90?

    Hot for teacher is just a cranked Marshall Plexi, no Phase 90 there. He used the Phase 90 alot on the first two albums.
