Custom Classic Strat from the CS

I ordered a Custom classic Strat from the Custom Shop in May, and I've not yet recived it. Supposedly they're very backlogged.

I 'd like some opinions about this guitar. I love strats played an Am Std, for a few years and also have a custom shop tele with Tex Special P/Us. ... so I'm Fender savvy....But I'm concerned that I might have made a mistake ordering a custom classic, that maybe I should have orderd a 65 strat... I'm a little disappoinited that the finish is not a Nitro-Cellulose Lacquer Finish..

I'm looking for that real wonderful strat tone and superb playability, and I'm afraid the CC may not give me what I'm looking for.

So I'm thinking about canceling my order in favor of a time machine model like the 65....any comments......

    Thanks

    Rod

You should cancel your order. Then I may get my CC sooner. I placed an order for one in July. Ship date was to be in August. Then that was changed to Feb of 2005. A bummer having to wait, but it will probably be worth it. I considered cancelling mine, but know I would regret it later if I were to order another and wait longer. And they will probably cost more later. At least if my other guitars get lost, stolen, or burned up, I will have a new one someday. There really aren't any other Custom Shop strats that are what I am after. At least for the price I paid for the CC. Not saying they don't make any other good ones.

Giving up on the guitar before you even get it huh. You gots to try it out before you send it down the road. You could always replace it with a 65 if you don't like it.
