Putting a better bridge/trem block on a MIM

Ok, I see you guys talking about replacing the trem block or the bridge on MIM strats. Anything special I need to do or which ones do I need to look at? I'm not new to strats, just new to MIM strats.

You can get a Callaham block but make sure you specify MiM... The spacing is different.

I have an All Parts bridge with a solid steel block and titanium saddles in my MiM.

Problem is I bought it this way and it was not designed for this guitar. My friend Chuck when through a lot of contortions to have it installed...

You can read about it here..

To tell you the truth… I can’t hear much of a difference.. Maybe I’m deaf…

Depends on the MIM if its a Classic series the USA parts bolt right on no mods.

So if you have an MIM Classic you can use the USA AV Tremelo system as found on the 57/62ri's and all Custom Shop Fenders. Its a Gotoh unit with a steel block you can find them always for $75-80 sometimes on sale for $60 for the complete trem system all screws whammy bar everything.

I THINK SWAPPING BRIDGES SOMETIMES MAKES A DIFFERENCE, AND SOMETIMES NOT. A GOOD GUITAR IS A GOOD GUITAR NO MATTER IF IT HAS CRAP PARTS OR NOT ON IT. SOME CALL IT MOJO, I CALL IT A GOOD SOUND. BUT I THINK SOMETIMES YOU NEED THAT "LITTLE EXTRA SOMETHING". AND ON LOWER END GUITARS, AND ON STRATS ESPECIALLY, A GOOD BRIDGE WILL BENEFIT IT.
