He was interviewed after the arrest, and the arresting officer (still slightly on edge from the chase and near-drowining) asked him - "Damn, plunging a car into a lake then just sitting there as it sank! Were you on crack?!"
The guy said "Yeah I was."
The officer couldn't think of a comeback to that, and that's why he was released without bail.
