Dating the early JV Strats

I have an early JV Strat for sale and would like to determine the exact year. Does anyone know a reference for dating those?

JV as in Japan Vintage or Jimmie Vaughan Strat?

Hmmmmmmmm, I do have a couple references for dating women, but not Strats. I guess if you treat one with respect and don't go wanking on it right away, you might stand a chance.

2 ways to date the early 80's JV's. Remove neck look for dates on neck or inside neck pocket or date it by the pot codes if its still got original pots.
