    What kind of capacitor is this?

    Anyone know what composition this .1uf cap is, mylar? Wondering how it would do as a Strat tone cap.

    Can't say exactly for sure but I'll say it's a mylar/foil cap. I haven't seen those in a long while. Used to use them all the time back in the late sixties while building different things. The mylars of today are much cleaner as far as packaging goes.

    I think its an epoxy/mylar/foil type, not made any more.

    Probably would work ok as a tone cap.

    It'll get real muddy real quick. Use .022uf to .047uf.
