    Nitro over stain???

    Can I apply nitrocellulose lacquer over an oil based stain?

    I think so. I just painted a Tele that was stained with an oil pigmented stain & had good results.

    I've shot nitro over oil-based stains before without problems.

    I use lacquer and poly over Danish oil...just follow the directions for a clear top coat and you're good.
