    Lo-Carb Diet Has Unexpected Benefit, Heartburn Gone!

    Besides losing over 20 pounds in the last 2 months my heartburn has dissappeared. It's not because I'm eating less fatty foods, I'm probably eating more fat in my diet now. My wife say's it because eating high-carb foods with protein. which I don't do anymore, was the problem.

    Has anyone else heard about this added benefit and can someone explain why it happens?

    Well, Carbs are supposed to be 60% of our diet. It's not that carbs are bad, necessarily, but we need balance in our diets.


    I haven't tried the lo-carb thing, but my doc put me on 30 grams of fiber a day, (Note to self: Cattle don't even get 30 grams of fiber.), but I had to stop that because it had an unpleasant side effect.

    It works the other way for me. I have such bad heartburn and acid reflux that all I eat is protein, basically only chicken breast. Day after day after day.

    I still have heartburn and acid reflux no matter what I eat.

    I told my wife I was just going to stop eating because everything is killing me...
