Very comfortable guitar. It's almost too light.

I've got one -- a Fly Classic. It's even easier to play than my Strats and Teles, it's made really well and I love the silver finish. The stainless steel fretwires have a slippery feel that I like. Really light too.

    Annie,
I think you'd recognize one when you saw it. They are very unique looking. They are also very comfortable to hold and play. They use new technology to make the bodies with wood and carbon fiber, so they don't have to be heavy, and they use stainless steel for the frets, so they don't wear out. They also use piezo bridges and humbuckers for a very wide range of sounds, and some unique combinations.

I've never played one, but I'd love to have an electric that can sound (even close) like an acoustic, for live situations of course. The used prices seem to be pretty reasonable, that's the way I'd go if I was looking for one.
So much talk about the USB port, what state is it in?

The new Musician's Fiend catalog has the set neck models for $2500 and $2750, that list for $3500 and $3800.

Like I said before...they cost more than a nice Les Paul.

I could never play acoustics like electrics, and vice-versa. I bash the hell out of my acoustics, like Pete Townshend on a crack binge. You can't do that when you've got 0.010s or 0.011s on a guitar.

I'm sure they'd work OK for some people.

Heard and saw on in France last summer. The guy couldn't play well, bust as far as I could make out the sounds it could make were versatile and good. Being a bit slow, I don't expect to be able to say I like it's looks before, say, 2045.

My freind has made his the #1 guitar (he has a few) it is the standard he judges all other guitars by. I would recommend you try one. If you can get past the goofy looks they are a top notch guitar. Versatile, stable, light and a peizo too.
Very expensive and you don't see them for sale everywhere

if you've ever read about the concepts behind the design they are simply awesome. ken parker takes such an amazing tangent from "normal" guitar building, but yet the guitars still sound normal. i've played a couple in the past, liked the sound, but could barely play it. it is a guitar for someone with a light touch. and yours truly has the polar opposite of that. go down and try one out and see if you like it. the other thing i don't like about them (seems like my only quibble with most guitars) is that there are too many controls on the guitar. i like them though, i think they are cool. i just can't play them.

Welp, I don't care for them. I've played them and they're not a Tele, A Strat or a Danelectro, so I just don't have much use. I guess I wouldn't mind one of those new Gretsches that Fender's making but a Parker...you can have mine...

While I'm not a traditionalist in any sense, and have owned some pretty modern style guitars in my playing career, the Parker Fly is not something I particularly like. I can appreciate the need for something like it for some players, but not for me. The Steinberger I could get use to -- the Parker Fly is too "out there" for my tastes...

SOOO IS IT MARGERINE OR BUTTER THATS THE QUESTION ?

SEE THEM PARKERS PLAY LIKE A DREAM REALLY I SWEAR ITS LIKE BUTTER REALLY IS

THEM CONTROLS CHUCKOCASTER IS TALKIN ABOUT DRIVE ME CRAZY I HATE TONS OF KNOBS AND THE GUITAR FEELS SOOO SLIPPERY ANY OF THEM I LOVE THE ACTION ITS CONSISTENT FROM DIFFERENT MODEL TO MODEL BUT VERY NICE
I JUST DO NOT HAVE THE SPACE AGE ERGONOMIC DESIGHN IN MY BLOOD

MY EXPLORER IS ODD ENOUGH TO PLAY

AND I SWEAR THE PARKER WELL RUNS CIRCLES AROUND MY EXPLORER

    ACTION WISE

I CAN NOT STAND TOO MANY BUTTONS / KNOBS TO TURN
BUT THE CONCEPT OF ITS PLAYABILITY IS UN REAL SO EASY TO PLAY ITS GREAT
TOO BAD THE BODY SHAPES TRUTHFULLY TO ME WERENT TOO CLOSER TO WHA I LIKED
AND AM USED TO PLAYIN (STRATOCASTERS)

BUT THE CONCEPT IS GREAT I PLAYED QUITE A FEW SINCE THEY POPED OUT
AND THEY ARE FUN BUT THE TREMOLO ON ONE MODEL WAS HANGIN SHARP ON THE D/G STRINGS

ITS LIKE SIMILAR TO MY OL SQUARE STEINBERGER I HAD THE GRAPHITE MODEL
ITS A WONDERFUL NECK IDEA AND THEY DO PLAY LIKE HEAVEN
BUT AT LEAST MY SQUARE OL STEINBERGER HAD A GREAT TREMOLO IT WOULD LOCK TO WHA EVA I WANTED AND IT REALLY STAYED WELLL IN TUNE TOO WELL IT WAS PHENOMINAL UNLIKE PARKERS TREMS I THINK THEM ARE WILKINSONS IM NOT SURE

THEM STEINBERGER TREMOLOS I LOVE TRUE PIECE OF WORKMANSHIP AND ITS A BREEZE TO USE

NOW IMPLEMENT ONE ON A STRATOCASTER AND YOWZAA !!!AWOOOO
    IMAA HOWLIN WOLF
I CANT TALK IM GETTIN ALL HOT AND SWEATY
    THINKIN OF IT
    I'SSS GETTIN EXITED
    LMAO BLUELOU
    GODBLESS

    AWOOOO
I LIKE THE STEINBERGERS THEM GRAPHITE GUITARS AND NECKS ARE MY FAVORITES
    FOR ODD GUITARS

LOU, that is why I say I would prefer a Steinberger to a Parker Fly... The tremolo on the Steinberger is better than the vintage Strat tremolo's in many ways because of it's ability to lock. Whereas the Wilkerson on the Parker Fly doesn't lock very well...at least to me...
