    Where to find Strat parts??

Can anyone here point me in the right direction for some Strat parts I can't find??

I am looking specifically for a black "engine turned" pickguard, as shown in Fender's '03 Frontline catalog. I looked at places like Musician's Friend, Zzounds, and Samash.com. as well as Fender's website, but I haven't found it yet. I am also looking for the vintage amp knobs to replace the standard tone/volume knobs, black p/up covers, and a black p/up switch.

I think these little items would drastically alter the look of my all-white 70's re-issue Strat w/ rosewood fretboard. It's a little too white for my tastes( funny how I don't like white guitars, but the $$ was too good to pass up..), and I want to make the guitar look more "mine".

    Any help would be appreciated..

Warmoth has a silvery engine turned pickguard. Tortoise shell looks good on white too.

I'm confused. If you saw it in Fender's catalog, why not just buy it from Fender?

Try Acme Guitar Works. They seem to have a pretty extensive array of stuff.

    Here's your part. $65

Tele-Bob: I saw it in their '03 catalog, but not on their website, so I thought(dangerous thing for me to do sometimes..)that maybe it was discontinued or something. Their vintage amp knob volume/tone controls were listed as "unavailable" on their site, too.

I was also asking because I'm new to guitars in general, and Fenders in particular. I know a lot about firearms, however, and I have found that a better deal can usually be found on parts and accessories at a parts distributor than going with the factory directly. I was curious to know if the same could be said for guitars.

    Clear it up at all?

Will give Acme and WArmoth a look-see, though. I may find something I am NOT looking for, but can't live without.

    Thanks!!

Sure. How about the link I posted to Acme. It's exactly the guard you mentioned you were looking for.

TB: Yup, that's it!! Thanks for the point in the right direction. They have some cool knobs, though not the ones I wanted, too. I like those clear ones they have.
